Player Informations

Silvia Häfliger (*8. Mai 1986 in Sursee) zählt zu den herausragenden Persönlichkeiten des Schweizer Frauenhandballs. Als Rückraumspielerin prägte sie über ein Jahrzehnt das Spiel von Spono Nottwil (heute Spono Eagles) und war sowohl national als auch international erfolgreich.

Ihre Karriere begann Häfliger 1987 bei Spono Nottwil, wo sie bis zu ihrem Karriereende aktiv blieb. In der höchsten Schweizer Liga absolvierte sie 299 Spiele und erzielte dabei 1’135 Tore. Mit ihrem Verein gewann sie 2006 die Schweizer Meisterschaft und sicherte sich 2011 und 2013 den Schweizer Cup. Zudem stand sie achtmal im Meisterschaftsfinal und erreichte ein weiteres Mal das Cupfinale.​

International vertrat Häfliger die Schweiz in 38 Länderspielen und erzielte dabei 75 Tore. Ihr Debüt in der A-Nationalmannschaft gab sie am 28. Oktober 2005 gegen Nordmazedonien, ihr letztes Spiel bestritt sie am 29. November 2009 gegen die Elfenbeinküste. Zuvor war sie bereits in der U18- und U20-Nationalmannschaft aktiv, mit insgesamt 58 Einsätzen und 183 Toren.

Auch im Beachhandball war Häfliger erfolgreich. Mit dem BHC Luzern gewann sie 2010 das europäische Clubturnier in Espinho (Portugal) und wurde mit den «Playadettes» zur besten Clubmannschaft Europas gekürt.​

Für ihre herausragenden Leistungen wurde Häfliger 2012 zur MVP der Swiss Handball Awards gewählt. 2017 erfolgte ihre Aufnahme in die Swiss Handball Hall of Fame, was ihre bedeutende Rolle im Schweizer Handball unterstreicht.​

Silvia Häfliger steht exemplarisch für Engagement, Beständigkeit und sportliche Exzellenz im Schweizer Frauenhandball.
