Player Informations

Marcel Hess (*16. November 1982 in Aarau) zählt zu den herausragenden Persönlichkeiten des Schweizer Handballs. Als linker Flügelspieler und später auch als Kreisläufer prägte er über zwei Jahrzehnte das Spiel in der Nationalliga A und der Schweizer Nationalmannschaft.

🏆 Karriere & Erfolge

Hess begann seine Handballkarriere beim HR Hochdorf und debütierte 1999 beim TV Suhr in der Nationalliga A. Mit Suhr wurde er 2001 Schweizer Meister und erreichte das Viertelfinale im EHF Challenge Cup 2001/02. 2006 wechselte er zu GC Amicitia Zürich, wo er 2008 und 2009 erneut Schweizer Meister wurde und 2009 den Schweizer Cup gewann. Im Europapokal der Pokalsieger 2008/09 erreichte er mit dem Team das Halbfinale.

Ab 2010 spielte Hess für Pfadi Winterthur, wo er sich schnell zum Teamleader und Captain entwickelte. Mit Pfadi feierte er 2015 den Cupsieg und wurde im selben Jahr zum wertvollsten Spieler (MVP) der gesamten Liga gewählt. Bis zu seinem Karriereende 2018 absolvierte er 550 Ligaspiele – ein Schweizer Rekord – und erzielte dabei 1’787 Tore. Seine Beständigkeit und Vereinstreue machten ihn zu einer prägenden Figur im Schweizer Handball.

🇨🇭 Nationalmannschaft

Für die Schweizer Nationalmannschaft absolvierte Hess 112 Länderspiele und erzielte dabei 155 Tore. Sein Debüt gab er am 19. Dezember 2003 gegen Luxemburg. Bis zu seinem Rücktritt 2014 war er ein fester Bestandteil des Nationalteams und brachte seine Erfahrung und Führungsqualitäten ein.
